James Galindo is an emerging young artist, he began drawing at a very
young age and eventually decided to pursue a college degree in painting.
During his senior year in high school, James enrolled in figure drawing
classes at College of the Desert in Palm Desert, California. It was
then that he discovered his passion for figurative art, which encouraged
him to pursue a higher education at Laguna College of Art & Design.
After eight years of intense study, James graduated with a Master's
Degree in Fine Art. [no-sidebar]
He has been the recipient of multiple scholarships and awards including
the "La Quinta Arts Foundation Scholarship," the "Ryan Ramirez Memorial
Scholarship," Best of Junior Fine Art at Laguna College of Art &
Design, the "Passport to China" scholarship, "L. Ron Hubbard's
Illustrators of the Future" award, Best of Show at the "Third Annual
Fairhaven Juried Exhibition", the "Albert K. Murray Fine Arts Education
Scholarship", and most recently, in 2009, the "John F. and Anna Lee
Stacey Scholarship." James currently lives and works in Los Angeles,
and teaches drawing and painting classes at Laguna College of Art &
Design and Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art.
